Why red is the colour of sporting champions
Is it just a coincidence that English football’s three most successful teams â€" Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal â€" all play in red, or does the colour really boost performance and rattle the opposition? And what are we to make of the fact that England were playing in red, instead of the usual white, when they achieved World Cup glory in 1966?
